Flew to Brisbane on Sat morning and right away boarded a bus to get to the Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin zoo). That is the only part of the weekend with which I was somewhat disappointed unfortunately! It took me about 2.5hours to get there (was supposed to be 80 minutes), it cost to get in, it was…

Entry from: Alice Springs, Australia Entry Title: “Two Princesses in the Outback” Entry: “We unexpectedly coincided our arrival in this small town in the middle of Australia with the biggest day in their Calendar. Henley on Todd Regatta, on the Todd River in the main town. However, being the outback, the river never flows so it is a regatta on a dry lake bed (its actually had to be cancelled twice in the last 30 years because there was water in the river). Noone…

The rest of the residents arrived last Saturday, so I’ve been very busy making sure everyone is settled in, knows how to get around, isn’t sufferring too much from culture shock, etc. We attended a footie match last Sunday in Subiaco (just north of here) and had a blast! Footie is the big sport…

We stopped in to check out the some of the great natural experiences that can be enjoyed in Tropical North Queensland. We started in Cairns and went out for a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. We sailed out to the reef to Michaelmas Cay with Passions of paradise. The great thing about this location is that you can snorkel right of the beach and if you are a certified diver you can also scuba dive this location. We then decided to head north to check out the Daintree Rainforest. To get to the Daintree head towards Port Douglas. On your way to the Daintree be sure to check…
